Alex Charovas is a Greek born professional portrait and lifestyle photographer based in London.
Alex’s interest in photography began when he was a young. Known as ‘the one who takes the best pictures,’ Alex would use his Kodak instamatic camera for taking family pictures and personal portraits.
While Alex started as a self-taught, after his 15-year voyage in product photography, alongside family commitments and entrepreneurial endeavours, he has been able to develop professionally by expanding his knowledges in photography academically. His professional background includes studies in highly accredited institutes such as The London School of Photography and The London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA).
Throughout transcendental experimentations, Alex has sought out ideas and influences not only for well composed and appropriately lit photographies, but also to communicate his ideas by capturing the pure essence and beauty of life. Distinctive element in his pictures is the strong contrast and dramatic effects as well as an artistic approach via postproduction.
Today, Alex develops his own personal photography projects whilst undertaking and delivering commercial projects for his clients. His work begins with developing an initial concept through, photography, and post production. His photography is tailored to his client’s needs, whether they are for print, online or social media.
"I learned the importance of experimenting to discover the composition while I'm shooting, and not from the composition theory"
